2018-2019 Officer Elections!

Call for Officer Nominations: Wednesday, March 6th – Monday, April 8th,  2019

  • The nomination period for President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer is currently open.  These four board positions will be voted on by secrete ballet at the Wednesday, April 12th meeting.
  • The nomination period is also open for the following director positions: Communications, Membership, Programming/Social, and Service.  These positions are appointed prior to the Wednesday, May 10th meeting by the newly elected board and existing board.

Officer Descriptions: 

President. The President shall preside at all regular and special meetings of the Club and the Board of Directors. The President shall, with the approval of the Board of Directors, appoint all standing and special committees and, in the event of a vacancy in the Board of Directors, shall, with the approval of the Board of Directors, fill such vacancy by appointment until the next regular election of the Club. The President shall be an ex officio member of all committees. The President shall maintain communication with the sponsoring club and the district Rotaract representative to ensure they are continually informed of all actions taken by the Club. The President shall deliver an annual state of the Club address to the Club’s membership and to the sponsoring club’s board of directors. Upon completion of a term, the President shall serve as Immediate Past President of the Club for one year immediately following the term.

Vice President. The Vice President shall succeed to the office of President in the event that the President is removed from office, or in the event that the President is otherwise unable to discharge his duties. The Vice President shall fill the vacancy until the President is capable of resuming all duties, or until an election is held. In the absence of the President, the Vice President shall preside at all meetings of the Club and of the Board of Directors. The Vice President shall oversee the Programs Committee and contribute to securing venues, activities and speakers for the regular club meetings.

Secretary. The Secretary shall maintain all Club records. The Secretary shall keep minutes of all the meetings of the Board of Directors. The Secretary shall direct all correspondence between the Board of Directors and the Club membership. The Secretary shall also maintain the public relations activities of the Club and coordinate with the Communications Director to maintain the Club’s website.

Treasurer. The Treasurer shall have custody of all Club funds, maintain all necessary records and deposit all such funds in a bank approved by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall report on the Club’s financial status at each meeting of the Board of Directors and shall hold all records available for inspection by any Club member. The Treasurer shall chair the Finance Committee and shall serve as the Ex Officio Chair of the Fundraising Committee if applicable.

Communications Director. The Communications Director works closely with the Secretary & chairs the Communication Committee.

The Communications Committee has the responsibility for communicating to club members and the general public. This includes: maintaining public relations activities for the club, club website, social media presence and marketing efforts. It also includes generating the Club E-Newsletter and keeping records of club events (photographing events, historian activities, etc). This committee is represented on the board by the Secretary.

Membership Director. The Membership Director chairs the Membership Committee.

The Membership Committee has the responsibility for formulating and developing appropriate activities for recruiting candidates for membership, recommending candidates for membership for approval by the Board of Directors, and such other matters as may be deemed appropriate. This committee shall have responsibility for formulating and developing appropriate activities for serving the needs of current members, including new member orientation, member involvement promotion and direction, and other such matters as may be deemed appropriate.

Programming / Social Director. The Programming/Social Director chairs the Programming/Social Committee.

The Programming/Social Committee has the responsibility for formulating and developing appropriate activities and speakers for the regularly scheduled program meetings. This committee is also responsible for formulating and developing appropriate activities for serving the social needs of the club, and such other matters deemed appropriate.

Service Director. The Service Director chairs the Service Committee.

The Service Committee has the responsibility for formulating and developing appropriate activities for serving the local community as well as coordinating any international philanthropic opportunities, and such other matters as may be deemed appropriate.
